NICE TO MEET YOU- I'M KELLY.
I didn’t grow up with money and I knew at 12 if I wanted a car, insurance, and college, I better start planning.
I cried at how overwhelming that message was to hear at such a young age, and then I got to work.
My first real job was at a donut shop at 15. I made $4.25 an hour plus tips. The tips would be maybe $15-$20 for an entire weekend, but that was more spending money then I had ever had. I was rich! I could go to McDonald’s whenever I wanted, and I gained 20 pounds to prove it. All my checks went directly into the bank, and my tip money was my own.
Today, I am 45, debt-free and completely self-made. That does not mean credit card debt-that means ALL the debt. I have had multiple executive jobs at Fortune 500 companies, hold an MBA, was a “40 under 40” winner, and was trained to be an Executive Life Coach. I am not a financial planner, stockbroker, or psychologist. I am a mother of 2 children, 2 dogs and a wife.
My wish for my readers is that we can walk the money path together, and maybe it can feel a little less complicated, a little more do-able, and you realize you are more than capable of this money thing.
Because as Glenda the Good Witch said,
